Breastfeeders have Talent **CoNtEsT**!

So once I got over our latch issues with my first, breastfeeding became more enjoyable. It wasn’t until my 2nd and 3rd babies came along though that I discovered just how blissful breastfeeding could be. It was one of the best moments when I laid down in my bed shortly after giving birth to my 2nd and we were able to nurse lying down immediately. It was heavenly. In that moment, all the “hellacious” moments with my first seemed to melt away.

I also discovered I had many hidden talents as I learned how to take breastfeeding and multitasking to a whole new level.

Sometimes I feel like the Cat in the Hat, adding one new trick on top of another while I nurse.

“Look at me! Look at me now!”

I can breastfeed my babe

As I sit in a chair

With a book in one hand

And a cup full of tea

“But that is not ALL I can do!”

Ok here’s the **CoNtEsT** part.

Finish the next line(s) of the story, “I can…”, with your most super awesome breastfeeding multitasking talent(s)!  You can also share one that you’ve witnessed but I have the absolute right to delete or disqualify anything terribly inappropriate. Remember to register as a user for easier commenting access.

The grand prize will be picked at random. Consolation prizes (probably in the form of something sweet and colorful) will be awarded to the most impressive, the most creative, and the one that makes me Laugh Out Loud  or even ROFL the hardest or longest.

So what’s the grand prize you ask?

A totally free (yup even the shipping) Udder Cover Nursing Cover! and baby burp cloth made by yours truly.

If you can’t wait and just have to have one of these, you might like to know that during this World Wide Breastfeeding Week Udder Covers is running a promotion where you can get any of their nursing covers (regular price $32) free! (with shipping) The code is "Breastfeeding".

p.s. If you’re wondering why I’m willing to part with my own unused cover so generously stay tuned for my next post on breastfeeding and covering up.

p.p.s. The contest will run through Friday night and the winner will be announced sometime on Saturday!

Ok, let’s see who’s got super breastfeeding multitasking talents!

while carrying Ira to chair time (it’s a Love&Logic thing)

  2. Amanda says:

I remember putting on eye liner, mascara, eye shadow and powder while standing in the bathroom and nursing. Not sure which child, but I know my hubby was impressed. :)

  3. Monica says:

…while answering the door for UPS.

…while throwing in a load of laundry.

…while letting Gemma hold onto my legs while she sat on the toilet and pooped.

I’m guessing the more kids you have, or the less distance you have between your baby and your next youngest, the more creative these get.

But you don’t have to count me in the contest. I already have a cover (the same one in fact) that I’ve hardly used. ;-D Anxious for the next post.

… while sitting on my rear gazing in to my baby’s eyes?

… while sitting on my rear and reading a book to Melanie?

… while drinking a glass of water?

I haven’t had much need to multi-task while nursing with the first two so I just enjoyed having that special time with the baby. That will likely change this time around, I’m sure.

(Oh, and I don’t need to be entered in the drawing either. One, so I/my family doesn’t dominate all blog contest prizes, and two because I have that same nursing cover already. You have great taste ;D )
