I think I like the idea of journaling on Fridays more than Saturdays, we’ll see how I feel next week.
I also changed the format of my Journal a bit just to be a little different.
Outside My Window: 72 degrees and cloudy. The clouds came down to visit us while we slept in the night so we woke up to a foggy morning in more than one sense. The two-year-old said it was so ‘froggy’! The sun finally took a peek out of her comfy blankets around lunch time.
I am Wearing: Khaki ‘cargo’ pants (with an awesome draw-string waistband!) and a green Old Navy “NY Brooklyn 94″ T-shirt; perfect for a comfy laid-back Friday.
I am so Grateful for: Morning mass and all its graces, a lovely morning nap while snuggle/nursing my babe, lunch and recess time with my daughter at school followed by and a pleasant walk around the pond, my friend, Erin, whose birthday was yesterday.
I’m Pondering: Politics and the elections and what they will bring for our country and our family.
Praying: That somehow Tiller’s abortion clinic will not re-open, for those who think it needs to be re-opened, that they will find their hope and help in Christ instead; for those who have had abortions, that they find healing and strength in Christ; for myself and family, that we may be filled with Christ’s love and share it with others.
I am Reading: My Brother, the Pope, The Passion of Mary-Margaret
(thanks Amy!), The Acts of the Apostles, and, when I’m waiting in the car, the latest issue of Catholic Digest (which used to be Faith & Family magazine).
I am Thinking: It’s time for a haircut, a nice healthy trim. Baby loves to grab my hair and he’s got a very strong grip! I like it being longer for now but it gets in the way while I’m nursing so it’s just a tad too long for my comfort.
I’m working on: Sending out baby announcements and thank you cards.
Around the House: Toys and books and stuff everywhere! I feel blessed and yet cursed with how much we have, especially our books. I and the kids love books but we have so many. I have a hard time getting rid of our children’s since most of them are hand-me-downs from me and my brothers and I’m slightly nostalgic.
The Kitchen: is a mess…but that’s because I make food for our family! I made us some yummy bbq meatball sandwiches and salad yesterday! I’m going to make a meal plan this weekend…I WILL!
(*Update! Oops forgot the kiddos and baby update, I’m a terrible mother!)
The Kiddos: We went to parent-teacher conferences for the older two and they are both doing well! Whewf! We were talking about the goals for the year and I realized how thankful I am that it’s not all on me. I’m so thankful for the great school/parish. Oh and the two-year-old! If this kid gets through life without any brain damage I’ll have done my job. He is so crazy when he plays he keeps running his head into walls and chairs, he even got a bloody nose the other day! Sheesh.
The Baby: 6 weeks yesterday, can’t believe it! It doesn’t feel like it’s been 6 weeks since it’s been way too easy compared to the other 3. I’m not complaining though! It’s crazy to think that if I had a full-time job I’d be leaving him and going back to work about now. This makes me feel mostly joyful/grateful I get to stay here but also a little lazy: it’s 6 weeks now, time to get back to ‘normal’, yeah right! (eye roll).
Picture to Share:

Man, you guys take awesome pictures! Nicholas looks so grown up and could James and Alaina be any cuter?!
Beautiful pictures! And Luke doesn’t look like a newborn in that first picture, so bright eyed and alert, in a slightly old man sort of way – too cute!
Thanks gals. I’m excited to say I took the first and last pictures, obvioulsy still working on perfect focusing but turned out pretty good still. I love the wide-eyed pictures of Luke we have, I just love how he stares intently at us like he’s asking us what it all means.
Jackie-yes he (your godson) is growing up, he’s been such a good big brother!
Ha, the stories about the two-year-old crack me up. He’s so funny.
I am with you…I am thoroughly enjoying “homeschooling” for preschool, but am so glad it’s not all on me once they reach kdg. (next year!!) I’ve been thinking about that a lot lately. Very grateful for our parish and school and the opportunity for their help in the education of my children.
