5 Favorites ~ Pumpkin Recipes!

Random / Wednesday, October 23rd, 2013

Linking up with Moxie Wife’s Five Favorites again since it gives me a good excuse to get on Pinterest and then suck you all into it with me. πŸ˜‰

Today’s edition is Pumpkin Recipes!

Yeah, yeah, the blanket of colorful leaves all over the slanty sunlit lawns is nice but Autumn wouldn’t be enjoyable without all the Pumpkin recipes! After banana bread, I think anything Pumpkin is my next favorite pastry of choice. There are so many wonderful recipes. I had to force myself to only share 5 for today. I’ll start healthy and work my way ‘down’.

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe {gluten free, paleo, and GAPS diet legal}

I’m not a member of any of those food groups, remember I rather enjoy my gluten. πŸ˜‰ However, I like variety in my diet and have many friends who might enjoy a tasty treat without any of the “free” items listed. Only one question – where do you find coconut flour?

Pumpkin Pie β€œgreen” Smoothie

My lovely and very healthy friend, Sarah, shared this just last week and I’ve been craving it ever since. Can you smooth me up a glass, please? πŸ˜‰

Pumpkin Snickerdoodles

What?! I think I’ve died and gone to cookie heaven! Ok, banana bread is my favorite pastry/bread but when it comes to cookies snickerdoodles are my first love. My mom used to make them just for me. No one else. πŸ˜‰ So when I saw these pumpkin and Snickerdoodle cookies I almost squealed for joy. {I didn’t want to wake the baby up so made a stifled squeely noise into my hand.} I WILL make these.

Pumpkin Scones

And tell me, friends, what’s Fall without pumpkin scones? Nothing. Just dead leaves flying around everywhere. But you gotta put the icing on or you might as well not even pre-heat the oven.

Pumpkin Cheesecake Shooters

Don’t these look fun? I might have just picked this for the picture. I don’t even own any shot glasses. Hmm, maybe a trip to the Dollar Tree is in my future! I might add crumbled Oreo cookies to this if I get around to it. If not, someone else do it for me and then come back here and gloat about it, ok?

Well, it’s a good thing we’re limited to only FIVE favorites today or I’d keep going and going. I pinned and will continue pinning more scrumptious pumpkin recipes on my Pumpkin Recipes Board if you’d like to get sucked into the world of pumpkin “heaven”. Watch out, once you click on one, you might not be able to stop…

Do you have any favorite pumpkin recipes? What about pumpkin soup? I saw a few on there but wasn’t sure how they’d taste? Does it taste like you’re basically eating warmed pumpkin puree?

  1. I’m deeply torn about whether or not to make those pumpkin scones (I would, of course, include the frosting). They look delicious, yet for some reason, scones are my baking nemesis– they are the one baked item that has NEVER turned out decently for me. I wish I knew why!

  2. Anna – you know I haven’t ever baked scones myself either. I just love to eat them! My mom is a bit of an expert scone baker. I’ll ask her if she has any tips. What problem do you usually end up with? Too crumbly or too doughy?

  3. Me too, Mary, me too. I picked most of these pictures last night before bed and when I finally unglued myself and cleaned up the drool and went to bed I could NOT sleep because of how hungry I suddenly felt. I dreamt all about pumpkin yummies.

  4. Hmm, you might try adding a bit more flour (if the dough is too sticky) and less baking powder. I’m not an expert AT ALL but maybe that might help. I’ll try baking some this season and post it here if they work out. πŸ™‚
