From my latest CatholicMom.com article on Advent and New Year’s resolutions:
“Since we’ve started a new liturgical year and New Year’s is just around the corner again, this is a good time to think about how we can “start fresh” and live our lives more deeply for Christ. The word “resolution” comes from the Latin resolutio-/resolution, from resolvere, meaning “to loosen or dissolve again…” (source).
So when making “resolutions”, instead of thinking about everything you’re going to “do”, maybe think about the ways you can “loosen” up and relax a little.”
Do you make New Year’s resolutions? If so, what do you have for this year?
My non-ambitious resolutions:
1. Comment on friends’ blogs more
2. More purposeful with time on Interwebs/use of social media
3. Pronounce the word anecdote correctly
4. Use the heck out of my new library gold card

1. – Yay! Thank you, you already do a great job and in fact were one of my top 5 active commenters last year
2. – Yes, me too.
3. – How do you say it now? I wonder if I’ve been saying it wrong too.
4. – Oh man, I’m jealous! I’ve thought of joining every time we have overdue fines. But then I’m already paying for the fines so don’t want to add to it. Let me know how you like it!
