The Great Summer Blog Curse just keeps hitting here over and over again and I’m getting weary. Just when I thought everything was all up and running suddenly it stopped again. We got it back up but somehow WordPress or the Blog Witch that’s been haunting my blog ate up last week’s Food for Thought post and the Journal post. (I hope that’s all the posts that are gone. If you notice anything else missing let me know!) I didn’t save them in Word like I usually do – a mistake I’ll never make again! Here is what I remember.
Outside:
It’s been raining, I wear t-shirts, shorts and flip-flops and lay out in our magical hammock often….when it’s not raining…
Summer Break So far:
We had some family visitors and the kids all enjoyed some fun summer activities the first three weeks of summer. Now there is nothing really planned so I go from feeling relaxed and enjoying our non-planned time together to totally flipping out and feeling like I’m going to drown. The kids are having fun though for the most part so hopefully they won’t remember the crazy mom moments. The baby-toddler is changing a lot – weaning, sleeping through the night more but then he’s also doing this crazy banshee screaming gig that is driving me BONKERS! I hid in the bathroom and had a good long cry over it today. Yes, I did just admit that.
In an effort to keep the kids from driving me too crazy I’ve been putting them to work a lot.
I found this cool Job Chart program that’s been helping motivate the kids to help with jobs that are extra – apart from our regular “you’re in this family and live in this house too so you have to do this” chores.
The most exciting news of all is that we got a dog! Yes, a dog! Her name is Bella and everyone – including me – is enjoying her here.
This is what we’ve been watching:
My husband and I had a fun dinner and movie date and watched X-Men: Days of Future Past – we both liked it lots.
We also recently enjoyed at home –
Which, is very similar to –
You have to be in the right mood for these incredibly eccentric and ridiculous movies. My husband and I laughed throughout most of them both. Laughter is the best medicine for the end of a long day.
With the family:
Planes – Yay a family movie that’s really a “family movie!”
The Pirate Fairy – this was for my daughter but we all liked it. The 4 year-old has been going around with his sword playing pirates with me – it’s fun.
What I’m reading
Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption – wow this is intense!
33 Days to Morning Glory: A Do-It-Yourself Retreat In Preparation for Marian Consecration – didn’t think I needed this, it started out dry but now I’m hooked and feeling the extra Grace flowing into me as I ponder it all. Mary is such an amazing and beautiful woman!
Ok that’s all I can remember. I’ll re-do the Food for Thought this Saturday. Sorry for the crazy silly blog drama lately. If I still have any readers after this, you all are loyal and wonderful friends!
Yay! She’s back–and with puppy pics no less. Glad it’s all sorted out though sorry to see it was such an ordeal! The blog looks great 😉
Thank you, Geri! You are such a great friend – I can count on you for encouragement when I need it most. God bless you abundantly with extra graces for that!
