Peanut Butter

Food / Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

I used to hate peanut butter so much I told people I was allergic to it. I think I actually believed myself! But when I tried some freshly ground peanut butter at our local natural food store, my allergy suddenly was gone! My brother and his wife told me they make their own peanut butter so I just had to try.

One pound of raw blanched peanuts

Put them in a food processor and mix. I didn’t time it exactly but it took a good 5-7 minutes or more to soften up into a butter. So if you think it isn’t going to work, don’t quit!

Ta-Da! This is a little more than a 1/4 cup of peanut butter. Mmmm!

  1. I was JUST talking to my sister-in-law about homemade peanut butter this week and wondering, “Can it actually be done?” You’ve proven it can and SHOULD be.

Thanks so much for participating in Tasty Tuesday!

  2. This looks tasty. I was looking at all the nut butter products in the Nature’s Market section of Dillons the other day.

I love peanut butter/peanuts, but am prone to cold sores and I think peanuts are a major trigger. Bummer.
