Ahh, motherhood. There’s nothing quite like it. Being a mom is by far one of the hardest things I’ve ever done in my life. But, it’s also the most fulfilling part of my life. I still feel ”restless” and I’ll always be seeking and yearning for something more (Jesus) but I think being a wife and a mother has brought me a big part of that missing puzzle piece.

That said, there are many blogs out there that seem to be written by perfect people about their perfect family and perfect homes and perfect everything. For the most part I like to focus on the positive and the idealistic side of life when talking to people in the real world because no one likes listening to a whiner all the time. But I also feel it is important to take a reality check sometimes and let people know that we are normal, no matter what great face we show on the outside.

After I vent or write down my frustrations, I feel better and realize they’re not so bad. It helps to talk about the trials of motherhood/marriage and just life in general with others not because I enjoy knowing others are suffering too but because it reminds me that I am not alone and crazy. (or at least not alone)

Thus Whiney Wednesday was born. Here are my Rules for Whiney Wednesdays: Only share up to 3 whines (even though there could be many more!) and offer these pebbles in the day as a prayer for my husband and all mothers and fathers and their families. (If God can transform wine into His precious blood, He can find a good use for our whines)

If you’re feeling whiney, feel free to join me in this Whiney Wednesday Blog Meme! p.s. you don’t have to be a mom or even married!

Here is the Whiney Wednesday Badge:

Copy and Paste the code below into your post (in html view).

If for some reason that doesn’t work, you can just save it to your pictures or blog and use it that way.

Please link back here from your blog with each of your Whiney Wednesday posts and/or leave a comment in my weekly Whiney Wednesday post’s comment box if you want to participate but do not have a blog.

Also comment here in this original post with any technical questions and I’ll try my best to answer them.

  1. Okay, I’m joining! I posted today (a bit late :) ) but I was not able to get your image to work in my html. I’m not sure what it’s doing wrong. Usually I can figure that stuff out. However, I was able to go to the Picasa album and copy the image URL and insert it that way just fine. Just wanted to let you know! Thanks for doing this!

  10. I always enjoy reading the whines! Makes everyone seem more human! And I plan to join in… very soon. Just too overwhelmed in general right now (I guess that is a whine in itself!). But I love the concept and agree it is good to vent every now and then!
