I love scarves! It’s one of my favorite new ‘fashion trends’. (Because I’m just so trendy.) Though I only own one – which I love – I’d like to add more to my stash. They are practical, versatile, and can take a ‘plain’ outfit up to the next level. When in doubt, throw a scarf on and people will have no idea that you haven’t showered in 2 days, that your kitchen and house are a disaster zone, or that you almost ‘lost it’ with the kids this morning. I also like how scarves cover plunging necklines (since that’s all they make anymore).

Scarves are great for moms who want to get away from the ‘mom uniform’; however, the only reason I don’t wear scarves (and necklaces) more is because I am a mom with a young baby-toddler who loves to pull on anything I’m wearing. If I’m wearing a scarf during Mass, by the time it’s over and done with, the baby has twisted and pulled it so much I usually end up taking it off in frustration. I’ve often thought I should make a scarf that can also be used as a nursing cover. Well guess what? Someone did! Kalynn from the Little Pickle Pie Etsy shop read my mind (and probably many other moms’) and did it for me! I just discovered these yesterday so I’ll have to order one soon and try it out.

I think the infinity scarves are my favorite. I like all the different ways you can use them and tie them together. Like this one:

I like all the ones from Maurices. Especially the ones that use mixed stitches with pretty colors:

P.S. There are still three more days to enter in the Hand-made Toy Bag Give-Away! And ANYONE can enter. Even if you are a nearby friend or family member.
I ‘ve always liked scarves on other people but thought that I just couldn’t pull them off myself. I finally decided to embrace them about a year ago, and it’s been a slow learning process, but I’m getting there π Style is not my forte. Love the gray knitted oneβ¦

Welcome Julie! Yes, I’m the same way..admiring scarves from afar yet not quite ready…or knowledgeable, to take the full plunge myself. Have you found any good places for scarf tips or has it just been a lot of trial and error?
The nursing cover one! Brilliant! And I really like that emerald green one from Maurices!
It is brilliant. I’m glad someone not only thought of it but made it for others too.
You know I love me some scarves. Those are pretty!
Yes, you, Jackie, and Sarah are my scarf heroines. π
