Cherry Lemonade

Way back in June my daughter and I decided to make Cherry Lemonade for our neighbors. The big wind storm had knocked down much of our beloved pear trees and our neighbor and another good friend (and neighbor too) spent a lot of their weekend helping my husband clean it all up with their chain saws and trucks. So we wanted to show them our appreciation somehow and plain ol’ water wasn’t going to cut it. 🙂 (hey look, I made a pun and I didn’t even try!)

It was refreshingly delicious. The only problem? I can’t find the notes I took for the recipe…if I took any notes at all? I’m trying to get better at writing down my creations or making voice notes as I experiment but sometimes there’s no time. I have no idea why I think I’ll remember it later! I can barely remember what day it is! (The other day I woke up and it took me a good 5 minutes for me to figure out it was Sunday and not Saturday.)

Anyway, I do remember I made our own ‘recipe’ based on this Sour Cherry Lemonade and this Frozen Cherry Lemonade. I also remember that we used canned cherries because we had eaten up all the fresh cherries before we had time to make the lemonade. I think we used about 8 – 10 lemons and about 3/4 cup sugar and maybe 1 cup or so of water. I do remember using the saucepan too…so basically, only use this post and picture for inspiration and motivation and then choose one of those links for a full recipe. Or make-up your own! Either way, it’s a great summer beverage that I highly recommend. If I make it again, I’ll make sure to keep better notes!
