Breakfast for Kids: Easy Waffle Sticks

It’s been a while since I posted a Tasty Tuesday item due to lack of food worthy of sharing. 😉

Yesterday, for the first time in way too long, I made breakfast. From “scratch”. It was something to celebrate so I took a picture and had fun making it all fancy for you. As school approaches I’m gathering easy breakfast ideas and thought I’d take a cue from the kids’ favorite French Toast sticks and do it with waffles instead. It’s nothing spectacular or even original but hey, I did at least think of doing it on my own, even if many others have already.

I plan on baking up a few batches of waffles, cutting them into sticks, and then freezing them in individually plastic-wrapped baggies for easy toasting in the mornings…hopefully.

My favorite waffle recipe is the Classic Waffles from Happy Hour Project.

I usually use half whole wheat and half white and add in any extra nourishment – flax seed, protein powder, nuts, etc. I’m sure you could do this your own favorite waffle recipe. This time I served it with sliced bananas and whole milk plain yogurt with maple syrup and butter – because you can’t eat waffles without those two, right?

What are some of your favorite fun and easy breakfast recipes?
